The Illustrator Showcase is a feature event of the Sydney Conference. The portfolio showcase displays SCBWI talent to the children's book industry. At the 2012 SCBWI showcase nearly fifty industry people viewed the exhibition resulting in contracts for new as well as established illustrators. Andrew Berkhut alone, Head of Publishing Scholastic Australia, took on three new illustrators including Andrea Edmunds. Her first picture book 10 Silly Wombats was published in 2013.
The Illustrator Showcase will be held from 9am to 11.00am on Monday 14th July 2014. It is an exclusive showing to publishers, editors, art directors, media and the children’s book industry. Following this showcase, industry is invited to meet relevant illustrators as well as participate in the conference.
