Only a few more sleeps until the CBCA National Conference begins! June 10-12, ACT. There are so many incredible kids' book creators who'll be speaking this year!
SCBWI are very excited to be partnering with the CBCA for what is going to be a very exciting event. If you are a teacher or librarian who works in schools or public libraries catering for the wide-range of needs of modern Australian families, and wanting to know how to use great literature with children of all ages – then this conference is a must for you. There will also be a creator stream with publishers and kids’ book experts sharing all the secrets of the kidlit world.
SCBWI will have a meet and greet stand to show off members’ books to teacher librarians, a Pitch to Publisher session, where curated SCBWI members have 3 minutes to do their best to show off their ideas to a panel of publishers and receive live feedback, and on the opening night, there’ll be Friday Night Book Fest! Friday June 10, 6:30-7:30pm
Much like speed dating, this is an exciting opportunity for librarians and delegates to hear Aussie kids’ book creators show off their recent books in short, sharp and sometimes hilarious ways, to have fun and fall in love with some brand new books!
If you’re in the ACT and would like to come along and witness the opening night frivolity, tickets can be purchased for for $40.
