Joel McKerrow
Joel McKerrow is one of Australia’s most successful, internationally touring, performance poets. He is an award winning writer, speaker, educator, creativity specialist and has performed for hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world including being the third ever Australian representative at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championships in the USA. Based out of Melbourne he is the Director of The School for Creative Development, the Artist Ambassador for TEARFUND Australia, is on the teaching staff at Melbourne Young Writers Studio and is the host of the The Deep Place: On Creativity and Spirituality Podcast.
Joel has four published books, five spoken word/albums and his first junior fiction/graphic, THE URBAN LEGEND HUNTERS, is coming out next year with Larrikin House.
Sami Bayly
Sami Bayly is a natural history illustrator based in Tamworth, NSW, who loves all things weird and wonderful. She finds the beauty and importance of all animals regardless of their appearance, and hopes to share her appreciation with others.
Sami’s first book, The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Ugly Animals, won the Children’s Indie Book of the Year Award and the Australian Book Design Award for Younger Readers. It was a CBCA Honour Book and was shortlisted for an ABIA Book of the Year for Younger Children and longlisted for the ABA Booksellers’ Choice 2020 Book of the Year Awards. Her second book, The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Dangerous Animals, was a CBCA Honour Book, an ABIA Book of the Year for Younger Children, won an Australian Book Design Award for Younger Readers and was shortlisted for the Children’s Indie Book of the Year 2020. Sami’s most recent book, The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Peculiar Pairs has been shortlisted for the CBCA Eve Pownall Award and longlisted for Children’s Indie Book of the Year Award.
Adam Cece
Adam Cece is an award-winning best-selling author of children’s books, including Wesley Booth Super Sleuth, Twin Spin and the hilarious Huggabie Falls series, which has been published worldwide. He is an SA Premier’s Reading Challenge Ambassador, and visits schools and libraries around Australia delivering fun, interactive talks focused on being an author, the craft of writing, getting published, solving mysteries, and how to write a cracking shopping list.
