New YA fiction for Helen Chapman

Congratulations to author Helen Chapman on the publication of

Deadly Waters

a paperback young adult fiction for 9-14 year olds published by Omnibus Books

01 May 2023

As a promising cricketer, teenager, Cliff dreams that one day he will play cricket for Australia. But when war comes he leaves everything he knows behind and faces horrors from submarine attacks to suicide attacks by kamikaze pilots.

A little known part of Australia's WW2 is that German ships laid mines off the coast of Australia to destroy Allied ships leaving for battle. U-boats and Japanese subs also attacked ships off the east coast.

Sobering to realise how close WW2 came to Australia.

New PB for Katrina Germein

Congratulations to author Katrina Germein for

Baby Lou

a hardback picture book for babies and toddlers published by Little Book Press

Illustrated by Karen Blair

April 2023

Baby Lou likes trying new food. As Lou grows, so does the menu.
Mashed beans. Rainbow fruit. Buttered toast.
Some foods are soft and some are squishy, but all are safe for Baby Lou.
A yummy book for little learners.

Baby Lou will soon be on its way to lots of little newborns and their families as part of the Raising Literacy Australia Book Gifting Program.

What a wonderful program!

New PB for Karen Mowbray

Congratulations to author Karen Mowbray on the publication of

Ooey Gooey Surprise

a paperback picture book for 4-6 year olds published by Bateman Books

November 2022

Illustrated by Lisa Allen

Joe is keen to make his pop a surprise cake for his birthday party. What could possibly go wrong? Another delightfully disastrous children’s story from the authors of Ooey Gooey Gone. Kiwi kids just love their ooey, gooey adventures!

We think Aussie kids will love them too!
