SCBWI ACT Virtual Conference and Assessments

Come join us for online professional development conference.
Our keynote speaker is the incredible author and illustrator Leigh Hobbs, who will be sharing his insights with us on creating amazing characters.

Peter Arnaudo, from the Book Cow in Kingston will chat about the secrets to getting books sold.

Rachael Hind, Teacher Librarian, CBCA Shadow Judge Coordinator and book review (plus a few more hats) will be talking about how to nail school visits; and

Kathy Weeden will talk about how to tailor events and visits to diverse learners.

We are also incredibly lucky to have landed 6 manuscript assessment with… Mary Verney from Penguin Random House! Mary will be looking at chapter books, junior fiction, middle grade and YA (not picture books or illustrator portfolios). Mary will run the manuscript assessments via Zoom the day before our event – on Saturday 23 November. Note that you need to book a ticket to the main event to have an assessment.

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.trybooking.com/CWGDJ.
