Heather Haylock's new picture book

June 4, 2018

Congrats to Heather Haylock on the publication of

Granny McFlitter the Champion Knitter

Illustrated by Lael Chisholm

Published by Penguin Random House New Zealand, in paperback

For ages 2+.

Granny McFlitter's family have had enough of her knitting. No more knitted knickers or lumpy wool slippers!
But when a ship runs aground, causing an oil spill, Granny's knitting saves the day - and the penguins.

Based on true events, this story was used for the Storylines Gavin Bishop award for new illustrators. Lael Chisholm won the Award and, as part of the prize, illustrated the book.

Adore the title - congrats again Heather, and Lael!

New picture book for Rachel Noble

June 4, 2018

Congrats to Rachel Noble on the publication of

Finn's Feather

illustrated by Zoey Abbott

published by Enchanted Lion Books in paperback

for ages 4 - 8.

Finn finds a feather on his doorstep and believes his late brother has sent it to him. Unsure of what to do with his treasure, his friend Lucas encourages him to play with it.

Finn's Feather is a story about resilience and memory - about a child, his brother and a friend who meets him where he is.

Sounds - and looks - lovely. Congrats again Rachel!

Kellie Byrnes' new picture book

April 25, 2018

Congrats to Kellie Byrnes on the publication of

Cloud Conductor

Illustrated by Anne-Marie Finn

Published by Wombat Books, in hardback

for around 4 - 8 years.

Frankie loves watching clouds. As seasons pass, she's lifted from her bedroom on tales she creates in the sky. Even when illness leaves her bedridden, Frankie can escape to the beach with shimmering waves, or the outback, with thundering horses.

Cloud Conductor encourages children to use their imagination in dealing with any challenges they may have in life. It also prompts discussion on topics like illness, the seasons, weather and music.  A media kit and teachers' notes are available.

Sounds great - congrats again Kellie!
