Jane Smith's new junior fiction novel, plus a shortlisting

August 26, 2019

Congrats to Jane Smith on the publication of

The Masked Man

Published by Big Sky Publishing, in paperback

For ages 6 - 11.

When his father’s car breaks down, Tommy is stranded overnight in a strange country town. Things get weird when he finds himself roaming deserted streets in the moonlight - way back in 1869! And in the middle of an armed robbery!

The Masked Man is the 8th book in the historical fiction Tommy Bell, Bushranger Boy series. Plus Jane has recently heard that Book 7 in the same series, The Runaway, has been shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards.

Great news - congrats on both counts Jane!

Congrats - again! - to Amelia McInerney on her shortlisting for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards for

The Book Chook

Illustrated by Connah Becon

Published by Omnibus Books - Scholastic Australia, in hardback

For ages 3 - 8.

When Ray realises he’s just a drawing of a chicken, he panics! Can he hatch a plan to get out of the book and be a real chook? A hilarious tale of flying the coop - and discovering home.

Such a wonderful idea - fingers crossed for a win Amelia!
